Cultivating health

Produce 960 km of pink agricultural drains: a creative awareness campaign unique in Quebec for the benefit of the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.

The goal? Raise more than $ 45,000 for the cause.
The campaign was held mainly in October 2018, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Our Story

Germain et Roger Lazure fondent Soleno.

Soleno is founded by Germain and Roger Lazure.

1977

Marcel Poirier

Marcel Poirier's family acquires SDP, a manufacturer of drainage products.

1982

Fusion de Soleno et SPD

When Soleno and SPD merged, Alain Poirier was named President.

1989

Usine de McAdam au Nouveau-Brunswick

The McAdam plant in New-Brunkswick opens, to manufacture large-diameter pipes.

1995

Acquisition des actifs de Technitex

Soleno acquires Technitex, a company that offers a full range of nonwoven products. It is renamed Soleno Technical Textiles.

1998

Usine de fabrication de tuyaux en acier

A steel pipe manufacturing plant with a storage site opens in St. Madeleine.

1999

premières cloches avec garniture intégrée

Soleno innovates by designing the first bell with integrated gasket, a combination that allows watertight seal assembly.

2004

Germain et Roger Lazure

Germain and Roger Lazure transfer ownership of their shares to the Poirier family, under the leadership of Alain Poirier.

2010

Soleno launches its new logo and corporate signature, Mastering Storm Water.

2011

Aquaswirl

Opening of the plant and distribution center in St-Louis-de-Blandford. Production of Aqua-Swirl treatment systems begins.

2012

Soleno confirms its vision for upcoming years.

2016

Écoleader industriel quebecois

Soleno becomes one of the most important plastic recyclers in Eastern Canada, recycling over 100 million post-consumer plastic containers per year.

2018

pole innovation

Inauguration of the innovation pole. The objective of Soleno’s innovation pole is to attract and unite multidisciplinary expertise to try and find sustainable solutions to solve the problem of recycling the residual plastic materials threatening the environment.

2019

Acquisition of Bluewaterpipe. Sharing a deep history of agricultural drainage for over 60 years, the two companies have decided to work together to better meet the needs of farmers in southwestern Ontario

2020

Plastique VPC

Acquisition of Soleno Plastiques VPC

Soleno, leader in sustainable development of solutions for mastering storm water, takes another step forward in terms of circular economy with the acquisition of Plastiques VPC, a start-up company specialised in the valuation of contaminated plastics.

2021

Give back to the community

Because sustainable development is a constant concern, Soleno is now part of the network of Industrial ECOLEADERS in Quebec through obtaining the ECORESPONSIBLE certification – level 2. Performance – for its plant located at 1160, route 133, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu – sponsored by the Council of Sustainable industries (CSI).
