Design Tool

• The design tool allows you to design retention systems with a volume of less than 1000 m³. Soleno wishes to assist its customers in the design of complex retention systems.

• Your design is being processed! The layout of your project is in progress and will be sent to you by email in the next few minutes. The time it takes to receive your layout may vary depending on the volume of information to be processed. *Be sure to add [email protected] in your address contacts and check your junk mail. 

1. • In the design tool, only the StormChamber model SC-34E allows you to make a multi-level retention system design. Please contact the Soleno engineer responsible for your territory, who will be able to offer you an alternative according to your specific needs. To find your local expert, please use our Find an Expert tool. 

• To receive your design, i.e. the drawing (PDF and DWG), as well as the summary of the design data, you must have filled in the project identification form in the last step of the tool and clicked on “finish”. A personalized email will be sent to you afterwards. 

• To proceed to the next step, you must have completed the current step and/or have data that allows you to develop a solution. Please verify the data first and if not, please contact the Soleno engineer responsible for your territory. To find the Soleno engineer responsible for your territory, use our Find an Expert tool. 

Make sure that the surfaces of both the current and projected land are equivalent.

It is not possible to modify a design once it is completed. However, you can easily log back into the tool to create a new design. As the different steps are quick and easy, all you have to do is enter the data by modifying what is required. If the tool does not allow you to make the desired modifications, directly contact the Soleno engineer responsible for your territory. The latter will assist you in the modification, through our design office.

• The SOL’O design tool , developed by Soleno and JFSA, is used to calculate a flow regulation* and a retention volume required for flood control (Specific objective No. 3: – Article 4 of the Manual). The general objective is that the peak flow leaving the developed land be equal to or lower than the current state of the land. *Note that the calculations are made for a system with a single flow regulator. Each row in the results table corresponds to a release flow of a return period (2, 5, 10, 50 and 100 years). These release flows were calculated based on the configuration of the pre-development land and each column corresponds to the rainfall of a return period. At the intersection of these columns and rows is a retention volume. This value represents the retention volume required to contain the rainwater runoff on the land in a post-development condition when the outflow is limited to the release flow (from the corresponding row). The recommended configuration is dimensioned according to the criteria in section 4.4 of the Calculation and Design Manual for Municipal Stormwater Management Facilities and represents the most optimized configuration that the tool will be able to emit.
