Major upgrade of the storm and sanitary sewer system in a dense urban area.
The City of Joliette undertook a large-scale upgrade of its storm and sanitary sewer networks in a built-up sector with several physical and technical constraints.
This second phase aimed to replace a section of the stormwater drainage network, all while maintaining traffic flow, access to surrounding buildings, and uninterrupted operation of active municipal services.
The main objective: to integrate a durable, watertight solution that could be perfectly adapted to the complex site conditions, including unstable clay soils and deep burial depth.
First Phase
Deep installation in confined urban conditions
Custom-manufactured KUSTOMFLO HDPE pipes
The city selected KUSTOMFLO HDPE pipes, custom-manufactured using KRAH technology. This solution offered precise customization capabilities—diameter, wall thickness, stiffness—to meet the specific needs of the site under extreme conditions.
Soleno also supplied custom-made manholes, designed to be nearly monolithic, making them easy to install at the desired elevations.
