As part of a project involving the development of rental condos on Lacombe Boulevard in Repentigny, four retention systems are required, with a total storage capacity of 400 m³/14125 ft³.
One of the main challenges is the limited excavation depth available. In addition, three of them were planned to be located beneath the parking area.
RAUSIKKO retention systems offer modularity that allows for the creation of irregular shapes, making them adaptable to site conditions.
To date, two systems have been installed, with respective retention capacities of 88 m³/3108 ft³ and 75 m³/2649 ft³, contributing to the overall target of 400 m³/14125 ft³ for the entire site. The remaining work is scheduled for completion in 2026.
Two installation methods were used: the conventional approach and the masonry wall technique, which involves offsetting the top layers from the bottom ones. This enhances the structural stability of the system. The flexibility of the RAUSIKKO system, combined with the variety of installation methods, makes it possible to overcome all technical challenges related to the project.

RAUSIKKO : THE NEXT GENERATION OF GEOCELLULAR SYSTEM
Faced with growing constraints in stormwater management—limited space, sustainability goals, and tight deadlines—geocellular retention systems are rapidly gaining popularity. Their high retention capacity and ease of installation make them the solution of choice for many projects.
A new addition to Soleno’s product line, the RAUSIKKO range stands out for its sedimentation tunnels that capture sediment, limit basin contamination, and facilitate long-term maintenance—a distinct advantage over traditional retention systems.
