Hauraton Trench Drains: A High-Performance Solution for Université Laval’s New Sports Field!

Context
In the summer of 2023, Université Laval completed the renovation of the outdoor sports surface at the Pavillon de l’Éducation physique et des sports, the renowned PEPS. During this renovation, an effective drainage solution was implemented for the entire field and athletics track. The organization aimed to provide sports surfaces that would enable athletes to perform to their full potential.
Hauraton’s linear drainage system collects, conveys and discharges stormwater safely and reliably.
Solution
Aiming for an efficient, durable, and robust drainage solution for new sports areas, designer Luc Gionet, landscape architect Sr. and president of Expertise Sports Design, recommended the installation of Hauraton channels, Recyfix PRO and SPORTFIX ranges.
Approximately 400 metres of 100 mm trench drains were installed to drain the new playing surface. The complete installation of the Hauraton drainage system was undertaken by Paradis Aménagement Urbain.

The Recyfix PRO channels from Hauraton proved to be the perfect solution for collecting, transporting, and evacuating stormwater from the new sports field at Université Laval. They are made from 100% recycled polypropylene and incorporate integrated reinforced angles. These channels are lightweight while remaining robust and durable.
Their resilience makes them ideal for commercial or industrial applications with intensive or non-intensive traffic up to a C250 load class.
Recyfix PRO channels are available with an interior width of 100 to 200 mm (4 to 8 inches).
